Effective on April 1, 2016, China's Zhejiang Province requires cargo vessels berthing at ports in the emissions control area to use fuel with sulfur content no more than 0.5%m/m. The relevant ports involve ten ports including Zhenhai, Beilun and Dingha. The breach of the new regulation will be liable to a fine of up to RMB100,000.

After a buffer period of two months, the regulation will be strictly implemented.
