Following the Informal Red Sea Agreement (IRSA), the Informal Rate Agreement (IRA) and the Informal South Asia Agreement (ISAA) recently compiled plans for freight rate restorations that they will undertake in the first half of 2016 for containers that their member carriers transport from Asia.
The IRA will make freight rate restorations of US150 per TEU on Jan. 17 and Jan. 21 and of $100 per TEUs on March 1, April 1 and May 1. Meanwhile, the first two steps of the ISAA plan will be carried out by $50 per TEU on Jan. 7 and Jan. 21.
