Vietnam's Hanoi – Hai Phong Expressway has been officially opened all along the line. The 5.5 trillion VND (US$2 billion) project started in May 2008 under the built-operate-transfer (BOT) contract.
Starting from Hanoi's Ring Road No. 3, the highway runs a total of 105.8 kilometers through Hung Yen and Hai Duong provinces and ends at Dinh Vu Port in Hai Phong's An Hai district. It is 33 meters wide and has 6 lanes and an intended speed of 120 kilometers per hour.
