Container throughput at the port of Shanghai fell marginally in March by a 0.7% year on year to 2.94 million TEUs, compared to 2.96 million TEUs in March last year. The March figure represents a 14.4% surge over the previous month rebounding after the Spring Festival holidays in February.
Singapore also saw a 3.5% decrease in container traffic in March, to 2.7 million TEUs compared to 2.8 million TEUs in the same month in 2014.
Hong Kong suffered a largest decline of 13.5% year on year, handling 1.63 million TEUs, compared to 1.88 million TEUs in March 21014.
