Ghana has decided to postpone the implementation of its Advance Shipment Information (ASHI) to April 2, 2015, according to carrier sources. The ASHI scheme was to be introduced on March 1, 2015.

ASHI is an electronic platform by which pre-arrival cargo information is received in advance for planning and for the commencement of the pre-clearance process. This will assist in minimizing the cost of clearing cargo at the ports by way of reducing the incidence of payments of high rent and demurrage charges.
