The Port of Laem Chabang in Thailand handled 3,157,961 TEUs of containers in the first half (January-June) of 2014, growing 7.6% year on year from 2,933,990 TEUs, according to statistical data provided by the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT).
Container throughput remained nearly unchanged at the Port of Bangkok, increasing a minute 0.7% from 730,485 TEUs to 737,310 TEUs. In breakdown, imports fell 3.8% to 408,311 TEUs, but exports rose 7.4% to 328,999 TEUs.
