Effective March 1, Indonesia's Department of Finance is encouraging exporters to use the cost, insurance and freight (CIF) terms of delivery instead of the currently prevailing free on board (FOB) system for transporting goods overseas. The shift to the CIF system is expected to create new business opportunities for local shipping firms.
