JIFFA honored on Tuesday seven students who had done very well during the course for qualifying international multimodal transport specialists that its Education Committee had held for the current fiscal year (April 2013-March 2014).

During the course, which was held in Tokyo in October, 176 students attended 30 lectures, 170 of which passed the qualifying examination.

As a consequence, the total number of JIFFA-certified international multimodal transport specialists had reached 4,724.

During the commendation ceremony, which was held at JIFFA’s secretariat office in Tokyo, Chairman Jiro Nakamura awarded certificates of completion and presented commemorative gifts to the seven top performers.

“The course of qualifying international multimodal transport specialists began in 1985, when JIFFA became an incorporated association, meaning it has since been nearly 30 years,” said Nakamura, who is also executive vice president of Nippon Express Co., Ltd.

“I hope you will play more active roles by making the best of the qualification, as it is a powerful tool you can use when working on front-line duties in the forwarding business,” he added.
