Intra-Asia Discussion Agreement (IADA) member lines have unveiled their business plan for 2014 for shipments moving to and from Japan.
Under the contract guidelines for 2014, IADA lines are recommended a rate restoration of US$250 per TEU, effective upon renewal of annual contracts.
The discussion agreement also seek a rate restoration of $425 in total in five steps in 2014: $75 per TEU effective January 6; $150 per TEU effective April 1; $50 per TEU effective July 1; $100 per TEU effective October 1; and $50 per TEU effective December 8.
The IADA said the recommendation is posed to individual members, on a voluntary, non-binding basis.
