The Information Committee held a seminar on the Advance Filing Rules on Maritime Container Cargo Information on June 11, 2013 at a conference room of JIFFA’s head office in Tokyo.

The two-session seminar was designed to help JIFFA member companies learn about the Japanese version of the so-called ''24-Hour Rule,'' which is to be implemented in Japan in March 2014.

During the first session, President Shigehiko Noda of Brainnetta Ltd. outlined the system and gave a briefing on what service providers can do.

During the second session, three service providers gave presentations on their own services.

CargoSmart Ltd., Descartes Systems Group Inc. and Trade Tech, Inc. will all conclude contracts with Nippon Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated Service, Inc. (NACCS) and provide intermediary services between users and customhouses.

As JIFFA members are highly interested in the Advance Filing Rules on Maritime Container Cargo Information, approximately 100 individuals were present at the seminar, filling all seats of the conference room.
