The Port of Shanghai handled 5.13 million TEUs of containers in September, up 6.2% year on year for a new monthly record, according to the latest data unveiled by Shanghai International Port (Group), or SIPG. In particular, Shanghai Mingdong Container Terminals performed well, processing 30,056 TEUs, the highest monthly volume for the terminal. The port managed to east containership congestion caused by typhoons, SIPG said.
