26.07.17CONPAS to be Operated at All CTs at Yokohama Port’s Honmoku, M. Honmoku Piers

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT)’s Kanto Regional Development Bureau will run the Container Fast Pass (CONPAS) advanced booking system on a trial basis on Aug. 12-13 at the Port of Yokohama’s Honmoku and Minami-Honmoku Piers. At Honmoku Pier, bookings will be required for all trucks coming to BC (BC1 Gate), D1, and D4 Container Terminals.

CONPAS has been in full-time operation at Minami-Honmoku Pier since March 2021, but bookings are not required for all trucks. As such, the pier will this time join the program to require all trucks to make bookings. Including BC Container Terminal at Honmoku Pier (BC2 Gate), as a result, CONPAS will require trucks to make bookings in advance at all of the container terminals at Honmoku and Minami-Honmoku Piers.

Requiring all trucks to make bookings in advance to prevent them from concentrating on specific hours is expected to contribute to reducing waiting time at container terminal gates. At the August trial, in addition, the container terminals will identify challenges to overcome to introduce CONPAS for requiring all trucks to make bookings.
