Narita International Airport handled 175,506 tons of international airfreight in May, up 8.8% to mark its 26th consecutive month of year-on-year growth, according to Tokyo Customs.
Outgoing cargo weighed 83,179 tons, up 11.6%, a year-on-year increase for 26 months running, which consisted of 49,328 tons of exports, up 11.7%, an enlargement for seven months running, and 33,851 tons of temporarily landed cargo, up 11.3%, a rise for two months running.
Incoming airfreight accounted for 92,327 tons, up 6.4%, a year-on-year expansion for two months in a row, which comprised 56,328 tons of imports, up 3.5%, growth for eight months in a row, and 35,999 tons of temporarily landed freight, up 11.3%, an increase for two months in a row.
