The Hong Kong Port Development Council (PDC) has announced the latest container throughput of Hong Kong port (estimates) and provisional throughput statistics of Kwai Tsing container terminals.

Container throughput at Hong Kong is estimated totaled 1.987 million TEUs in January 2013, down 0.7% year-on-year. The figure represents a decline for ten consecutive months.

Of the total, Kwai Tsing terminals handled 1.517 million TEUs, down 1.0% from the same months in 2012. Container throughput at the port's other terminals rose by 0.3% on year for the first time in ten months, to 470,000 TEUs.
