In 2011, a total of 6,227,290 TEUs of containers were traded between China and South Korea, going down 1.2% year on year from 6,305,518 TEUs.
Eastbound local cargoes from China to South Korea accounted for 1,890,717 TEUs, up 3.9% from 1,819,864 TEUs.
Westbound containers from South Korea to China were weaker, increasing a minute 0.5% from 1,924,975 TEUs to 1,934,371 TEUs.
Cargoes transshipped in South Korea declined 6.2% from 2,560,679 TEUs to 2,402,202 TEUs, contributing to the abovementioned slight growth in containers from South Korea to China.
