Turkish Customs will introduce the Turkey 24-hour advanced manifest rule, effective January 1, 2012.

Under the rule, carriers will be required to submit a cargo declaration named Entry Summary Declaration (ENS) 24 hours before the cargo is loaded onto a vessel bound for Turkey.

In the beginning, Turkey's 24-hour application data requirement will be similar to that of EU's, which consists of Exit Summary Declaration (EXS) for exports and Entry Summary Declaration for imports and went into full-fledged operation in July 2011.

Shippers will be required to submit complete and accurate cargo information to the carrier at least 48 hours prior CY cut-off at the cargo origin port.
