Effective October 1, 2010, container shipping lines in the Canada Westbound Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (CWTSA) will raise rates on all dry commodities by US$160 per 20ft container (TEU), US$200 per 40ft container (FEU), and US$200.00 per 45ft container to all destinations except Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Rates to Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be increased by US$240.00 per 20ft container and US$300.00 per 40ft container and $300.00 per 45ft container.

The GRI program for October 1, 2010 will also address refrigerated cargoes and will raise rates on all commodities. Rates ex Toronto, Montreal, and IPI points as will be increased by US$400 per 20ft container and US$500 per 40ft container. Rates ex Halifax and Vancouver to be increased by US$200.00 per 20ft container and US$300.00 per 40ft container to all destinations except Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Rates to Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be increased by US$400 per 20ft container and US$500 per 40ft container.
