Shippers and shipping lines may face congestion again at the port of Bangkok as the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) has announced a plan to install new rails for the gantry cranes for almost a year from mid-September.

The berths involved are four of the seven on the East Quay (No. 20A, 20AB, 20B, 20C).

The port has just completed replacement of gantry cranes on the two berths (20D and 20E) at the port and resumed operation in end July.
