Informal Rate Agreement (IRA) lines, which provide service on the trade between Asia and the Middle East, plan to implement an emergency rate restoration of $250 per TEU and $500 per FEU for shipments moving from Japan to the Middle East, effective July 1, 2010.
On the trade from Asia excluding Japan to the Middle East, the increase will be $200 per TEU, effective July 1, 2010. On top of it, a Peak Season Surcharge of $150 per TEU will be introduced on June 15 and it will be raised to $250 per TEU effective July 1.
