The containerization rate of used vehicles for exports from Japan rose 12.4 percentage points to 42.7% in 2009 from the previous year’s 30.3% though its export volume for 2009 tumbled 29.4% from a year before to 288,261 units compared with 408,478 units in 2008 reflecting a plunge of the entire used vehicles export. In 2009, the overall number of used vehicles exported from Japan almost halved to 675,858 units from the previous year’s 1,347,026 units.
