U.S.'s National Industrial transportation League (NITL) has asked the Federal Maritime Commission to obtain additional information regarding the ocean carrier rate filing requirements implemented recently in China and administered by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange (SSE), and clarify the interpretation of the regulation.
NITL said the information they have obtained about China's rate filing rules is based on unofficial and awkward translation and thus left them with a number of questions and concerns.
The U.S. shippers' body has requested the FMC to provide them with assistance and, to the extent possible, to achieve greater clarity regarding the workings and impact of the rule.
