As per the Department of the President of the Republic of Yemen’s Circular No. 279/5, effective January 1, 2010, the import of used cars which have previously been damaged or involved in any traffic accidents, such as car collision and others, will be not permitted, according to APL’s Website.
Strict enforcement by local authorities is expected. Failure to comply may result in the cargo being re-exported to origin. Penalties may also be imposed on both the shipper and carrier, APL said.
