The Port of Kobe processed 171,712 TEUs of oceangoing containers in July, which decreased 3.1% year on year, according to a report compiled by the city of Kobe’s Port and Harbor Bureau. Exports accounted for 92,002 TEUs, which went down 4.3%, and imports, the balance of 79,710 TEUs, down 1.8%.
In the first seven months (January-July), 1,285,798 TEUs were moved to and from Kobe, which improved 4.3% from a year earlier. In breakdown, 677,770 TEUs were exports, which rose 2.4%, and the remaining 608,028 TEUs were imports, which grew 6.4%.
