Container traffic at three of the world's busiest container ports made a steady growth in the first three months of the year.
The port of Shanghai handled 8.266 million TEUs in the first quarter of this year, up 4.67% compared to 7.802 million TEUs in the same period last year.
Containerized shipments processed at Singapore in the quarter totaled 7.934 million TEUs representing an increase of 3.9% compared to the same period of last year.
In Hong Kong, container throughput in the Jan-Mar period amounted to 5.401 million TEUs, up 2.5% year on year. Volumes handled at its main Kwai-Tsing container terminals were 4.318 million TEUs, accounting for the lion's share of 80% of the total.
