The TSA Revenue Index for eastbound transpacific services retains strong higher levels in February on a month-on-moth basis, according to the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA).

The index for cargo moving from Asia to the West Coast of the U.S. and interior point intermodal (IPI) was 88.13 points in February 2015, up 2.51 points compared to 85.62 for the previous month. Compared to 87.63 for the same month in the previous year, the February figure represents a 0.5 points increase, marking the highest in the past 23 months..

On the trade from Asia to the U.S. East and Gulf Coasts, the index stood at 96.87 in February, up 4.64 points from the previous month's 92.23 points. Year on year, it gained 17.88 points compared to 78.99 for the corresponding month in 2014.

The TSA Revenue Index tracks average revenue per-40 foot container from Asia to the U.S. West Coast and to the East and Gulf coasts, which includes contracted and on-the-spot freight rates as well as terminal handling charges (THCs) and other non-floating charges but does not include bunker surcharges. The numbers are benchmarked in percentage terms against the baseline month of June 2008.
