The Port of Kobe handled 164,336 TEUs of foreign-trade containers in August, down 2% year on year, according to preliminary statistics unveiled by the Kobe City Government’s Port and Harbor Bureau. Exports accounted for 84,696 TEUs, down 7.5%, and imports, 79,640 TEUs, up 4.7%.
In the first eight months (January–August), Kobe processed 1.39 million TEUs, up 1.1%, which consisted of 739,928 TEUs of exports, down 1.1%, and 654,906 TEUs of imports, up 3.7%.
