The first international border crossing between Cambodia and Laos opened on January 10, 2017. The new crossing links Nongnokheane in Champassak province, Laos and Trapeang Kriel in Stung Treng province, Cambodia.
The Nongnokheane - Trapeang Kriel border check point is expected to facilitate the flow of international shipments as well as tourists between the two Southeast Asian nations.
