Member container lines in the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) Westbound section have agreed on the need for an across-the-board increase rates of produce moving from the U.S. to Asia.

The recommended general rate increase (GRI) will be implemented in two stages, effective October 1 and November 1, 2016, each in the amount of US$100 per 40-foot container (FEU) for cargo moving via the U.S. West Coast and East Coast, and $150 per FEU for cargo from U.S. inland points.

They have also adopted a recommendation to fix rates for frozen vegetables and fruits bound for Asia from the U.S. West Coast at $2,900 per FEU in the period from September 1, 2016 through August 31 in 2017 irrespective of fluctuations in costs.
