The Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) recently unveiled the TSA Revenue Index, which sets 2008 as its baseline with a value of 100 points, for the month of May.

The index for services destined to west coast and inland point intermodal (IPI) destinations in North America was 69.26 points, which decreased by 1.87 points from the previous month and suffered a month-on-month decline for three months in a row. From a year earlier, it plunged by a notable 14.85 points to the lowest level since January 2010.

For services bound for the east and Gulf coasts, the index went down by 7.3 points from April, suffering a month-on-month fall for the third consecutive month. From May 2015, it sank by as many as 26.4 points, which also reached the lowest level since January 2010.

The TSA Revenue Index is the average of revenue per FEU, which includes freight rates on contracts, spot rates and terminal handling charges (THCs) that do not float, but does not include bunker surcharges.
