Container throughput at the port of Hong Kong totaled 1.75 million TEUs in July, down 9.5 percent compared to 1.93 million TEUs in the same month last year, representing the 13th straight month of decline on a year-on-year basis, according to statistics of the Hong Kong Marine Department.
In the first seven months, Hong Kong handled 11.936 million TEUs, down 9.1% from the same period in 2014, of which Kwai Tsing Container Terminals accounted for approximately 80%.
