The International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) reached on August 11 a tentative agreement with Pacific Northwest Grain Handlers Association(PNGHA)for a new contract covering grain terminals in the Pacific

Terms of the agreement will not be made public until members have a chance to review and vote on the tentative agreement which covers Mitsui-United Grain (UGC) in Vancouver, Marubeni-Columbia Grain in Portland, and Louis Dreyfus in Portland and Seattle. Reduced picket lines will remain at Mitsui-UGC and at Marubeni-Columbia Grain while members vote on the agreement.
