In the first half of 2014 ocean cargo handled by the port of Singapore has increased by 7.2% year on year to 289.2 million tons, compared to 269.9 million tons in the same period in 2012.
Container throughput at the port rose 7.6% from a year earlier to 172.9 million tons. In terms of TEU, it amounted to 16.506 million TEUs, up 4.4% on year. The conventional fell 9.3% from the same period last year to 14.5 million tons.
