Japan exported 1,073,977 tons of containerized shipments to China in February 2014, up 11.2% over the same month last year, according to a report compiled by the Japan Maritime Center (JMC).

Inbound containerized cargo from China to Japan, however, declined 3.6% from a year earlier to 1,392,052 tons.

The JMC report added that Japan's exports to China valued at 611.0 billion yen in February, up 28.1% from the same month in 2013 while the inbound trade amounted to 822.9 billion yen, up 3.4% year on year
